Summary


The Recruitment Co is currently recruiting for a Shift Quality Engineer to join our clients growing team based in the Llanelli area.


Contract: Permanent

Salary: Up to £36,000 Plus Shift allowance of 15.67% on average across the shifts (£41,616)

Hours of work: 3 shift pattern:-

Mornings:
Monday to Thursday - 06:00 - 14:00 hrs, Friday - 06:00 - 11:00 hrs. 10% premium payable

Afternoons:
Monday to Thursday - 14:00 - 22:00 hrs, Friday - 11:00 - 16:00 hrs. 10% premium payable

Nights:
Monday to Thursday - 22:00 - 06:00 hrs, Friday - 16:00 - 21.00 hrs. 27% premium payable


Qualifications:

  • Educated to a minimum HNC level in an Engineering/Manufacturing discipline


Key Tasks / Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain quality documentation and controls.
  • Compile and submit Customer specific documentation.
  • To be a capable user of core quality tools & techniques and their application, typically: SPC, Ishikawa, Histograms, Pareto Charts, Scatter Diagrams, Stratification etc
  • Support the Internal manufacturing teams with regard to the timely resolution of Customer and Internal quality concerns.
  • Support the NPI teams during the development of Controls Plans, PFMEA, Gauge Planning etc. and highlight potential failure modes ref Lessons Learnt.
  • Support the Internal Audit team by performing various Internal Audits.
  • Understanding and utilisation of Automotive Core tools such as APQP, PPAP, PFMEA processes.
  • Champion to promote compliance to company systems, procedures and control plan requirements.
  • Provide and communicate Quality / process data to the Manufacturing Teams and facilitate actions to improve.
  • Provide appropriate training for Product Conformance Technicians / Quality Technicians.
  • Manage the activities of Product Conformance Technicians / Quality Technicians on a day-to-day basis.
  • Pro-actively visit customer / supplier locations to resolve customer concerns and maintain high levels of customer liaison.


Key Requirements:

  • A good working knowledge of metal forming and fabrication processes.
  • An appropriate qualification in Mechanical / Production Engineering ( e.g Degree or HNC)
  • Appropriate experience working within an Automotive 1st Tier Supplier Quality Engineering role.
  • Proven background in successful application of QA Core tools & techniques supported by excellent problem solving skills.

  • Data stratification


Knowledge / Experience:

  • Strong understanding of OEM Customer Specific Standards & Requirements
  • A proven background of leadership abilities combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan and manage resources to achieve objectives and priorities despite conflicting agendas and multiple deliverables
  • A good working knowledge of metal forming and fabrication processes.
  • Appropriate experience within an Automotive 1st Tier Supplier Quality Engineering role.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a small team / cross functional teams to achieve desired results
