Term time Plus 3 extra weeks (working 42 weeks of the year) Location: Aurora Keyes Barn School, Salwick, Near Preston The Aurora Group The Aurora Keyes Barn School is a small, specialist provider of education and care, supporting boys aged 5 - 12 who face challenges associated with additional social, emotional and behaviour needs. You can find out more about the school by visiting our website here We’re currently looking for an experienced School Administrator/Receptionist to join our school. Job Role: To provide an efficient and effective school administration service including the management of the school reception area. The role is very busy and requires lots of organisation and multi-tasking. Full of variety, no two days are the same and you’ll be working with a small, friendly and supportive team.
Key duties covering two main areas include: School Administration Provide an effective support service which incorporates all aspects of School administration Recording attendance, processing and composing correspondence, record keeping, data input, arranging meetings, taking minutes, Handling and recording the day-to-day Finances, HR, Facilities and Site Maintenance, ICT, Health & Safety, Housekeeping and Catering. Support the SENDCo and therapy team with the planning and paperwork for EHCP reviews Liaising with staff, collating information, and coordinating with relevant parties. Reception First impressions count and you will ensure all staff, pupils and visitors are welcomed to site in a friendly and courteous manner Oversee the safety and security of the school reception making sure everyone is signed in and out of the building in line with safeguarding policies and protocols Like many SEN environments; your duties are likely to vary and therefore candidates will need to be flexible and be able to lend a hand whenever required.
Skills and Qualifications Skills and experience required: Experience of working in a school environment and/or a busy reception/administration office preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, email and web and general office systems It is essential that the person for this role is organised, able to multitask, work flexibly and has a ‘can do’ approach to work Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Good level of literacy and numeracy (at least 5 GCSEs above C or equivalent to include English and Maths) Able to work independently and as part of a team Able to be discreet working with confidential and sensitive information Benefits and Additional Information What’s on offer?
