Summary
Pastoral Officer
Salary: Grade 6 Point 21 £30,825.00 - £33,945.00
Hours: Full-time AYR Contract. Will be required to work some of the school holidays to be agreed with successful candidate.
Start date: 2nd September 2024.The post holder reports to the Headteacher who may delegate this responsibility to an appropriate member of the team. The main contacts of the job are the pupils, families/carers, Headteacher/SL, teachers, support staff, governors and a range of outside agencies. Our Federation and our School St Cuthbert’s and St Mary’s formally federated in 2020. Whilst this post is to be based at St Cuthbert’s, both schools work collaboratively for the benefit of both communities. The Governors of The Federation of St Cuthbert’s and St Mary’s are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic HLTA and Pastoral Lead to join the team at St Cuthbert’s and for you to be part of the ongoing developing of our school. Main purpose of the role: - Promote the inclusion of all pupils including those with SEND needs
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support for school staff on pastoral issues
- Support our SEND pupils with their therapeutic and academic learning through interventions
- Support families with Early Help and other agencies
- Support and preparation for family/school events
- Create effective partnerships with pupils, parents/carers, staff and multi agencies through attending meetings when required
- Be proactive, flexible and self-motivated to achieve the best for our pupils
- Cover PPA as and when required
- Contribute to child-friendly policies
- Work collaboratively with a small inclusion/DSL team to identify pupils and families who many engage with support.The successful candidate will: - Have a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification
- Have excellent communication and IT skills
- Be adaptive and flexible in a busy working environment with challenging situations
- Work successfully as part of a dedicated team
- Be willing to support the school’s Catholic ethos
