Summary
To proactively manage and optimise the flow of patients through the ED and UTC areas ensuring patients are seen and manages where best appropriate. To make informed decisions, involving patients to ensure agreed clinical standards and targets are met. To assist in the undertaking of initial assessment and triage and application of prescribed treatments. To manage flow into the departments from outside organisations such as 111 to ensure throughput is streamlined and minimised for patients To act as a clinical role model and be able to provide care to the sickest patients within the Department. ensure that patients are seen and treated in a timely manner, and in accordance with local and government targets Provides and receives complex, sensitive or contentious information, where persuasive, motivational, negotiating, training, empathic or reassurance skills are required. This may be because agreement or co-ordination is required or because there are barriers to understanding.
