Our full-time and part time, permanent positions offer stability and growth opportunities in the heart of Chesterfield Town Centre.

We're seeking individuals experienced in Council Tax Support and Housing Benefits, Council Tax Billing and Recovery, or Business Rates Billing and Recovery.

Don’t fret if you lack service-specific experience; we welcome candidates who can meet our person specification.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of our service reshape, embracing a more versatile approach.

Your responsibilities include:

processing changes in customer accounts,
awarding discounts and exemptions,
assessing housing benefit and council tax support claims
managing benefit entitlement adjustments
plus, you'll play a vital role in collecting income and arrears owed to the council
What are we looking for?

a proactive team player with a 'can-do' attitude, eager to learn and adapt to evolving demands
while prior local government experience is advantageous, it's not mandatory
excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong numeracy skills, are essential
you'll handle sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism, ensuring customers feel respected and understood
tech-savvy? Fantastic! - Proficiency in various software applications is a plus
being well-organised, accurate, and able to thrive under pressure are also key traits we value
