Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated Therapy and Care Assistant to provide support and assistance to a young man with cerebral palsy, living in the Maidenhead area.
The primary responsibility of the role is to aid in the implementation of therapeutic activities and provide personal care to enhance the individual's overall independence and well-being.
This role would be ideal for a candidate with a strong interest in a therapy/educational subject such as Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychology or SEN Teaching.
Previous experience working with individuals with Cerebral Palsy or a similar condition would be preferred. We are seeking somebody with a dynamic and enthusiastic approach who can be adept at motivating our client to engage with the therapy programmes in place.
Typical working hours:
Term Time:
Weekdays: Monday to Thursday: 16:45pm – 08:15am; Fridays 15:45pm – 08:15am
Weekends: An 8-to-10-hour shift between the hours of 08:30am and 20:15pm
School Holidays:
Monday to Sunday: An 8-to-10-hour shift between the hours of 08:30am and 20:15pm
Potential for more hours in term time should client situation change (will mirror weekends)
Our client seeks someone who is well organised and flexible.
Rates of pay £14.00 per hour Monday to Friday, £16.00 per hour Saturday and Sunday
An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise, the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.
All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult and Child Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential.
