We are now looking for a knowledgeable construction industry professional with experience in building control to join our team as our Lead Registered Building Inspector.

About the role
As Lead Registered Building Inspector you will supervise our team of building inspectors and lead on all technical building regulation matters.

You will be our expert on the Building Regulations, dangerous structures, enforcement and demolition. By developing our service to take advantage of the widespread changes to building control nationally you will be part of a team working together to further strengthen our relationships with the local construction sector and developers.

To deliver this, you will have experience of:

Undertaking assessments and supervision of dangerous structures.
Making judgements as to the adequacy of building work and compliance with regulations, and
Determining which enforcement powers are the most appropriate to address non-compliance.
You will be knowledgeable about Building Regulations and their implementation, enforcement powers and quality assurance systems.

An understanding of budgetary systems, finance, and commercial acumen will be an important part of your success, as will your confidence in working with individuals and groups at all levels, explaining complex matters and presenting evidence in court.
