Salary: £53,000 (salary subject to pending job evaluation), and due to increase to £54,500 from 1st September 2024 (salary subject to pending job evaluation)

This salary includes £2,500 market allowance, which is in place until the outcome of job evaluation is confirmed and then will be reviewed.

West Lothian College is looking to appoint a Learning and Skills Manager within the Computing, Engineering and Built Environment faculty.

This is a key role to realising excellence across a range of college activities, to support, develop and enhance the curriculum teams across all our computing department. The successful candidate will manage the curriculum portfolio within the faculty, to ensure it is inclusive, high quality and dynamic.

Supporting the director in achieving the goals of the faculty’s operational and strategic plan, you will oversee the curriculum to ensure student success through effective delivery, guidance and support. Managing commercial activity, as well as all the resources within the faculty, you should provide inspirational leadership for staff and ensure sufficient opportunities for their continuous development.

This role requires an individual with superb communication skills and demonstrable experience of staff management, to be an inspirational manager, to ensure staff and students alike, are able to meet standards of educational excellence. Please note this role does not have a teaching commitment.

Applicants should also be qualified to SCQF Level 9, with evidence of continuous professional development, preferably with a teaching qualification and/or management qualification. Experience in the built environment and/or engineering sectors within an education setting with industry experience being essential. We particularly welcome applicants with experience of built environment delivery.
