This is an exciting opportunity to join Meadowpark Communication Provision to become part of the teaching team across the provision.

Meadowpark is East Lothian’s specialist communication provision that caters for secondary aged pupils with autism, communication difficulties and other complex additional support needs, where pupils have access to a highly individualised and adapted approach to teaching and learning. The provision provides places for up to 49 young people from across the county and offers pupils and staff extensive facilities including a sensory room, quiet rooms, nurture spaces and generous outdoor space.

Meadowpark aims to provide each pupil with an individualised curriculum according to his/her identified strengths and needs. Staff seek to promote the ability of each pupil to gain relevant skills, capacities, accreditations and qualifications necessary to provide them with the best life chances.

Staff work very closely with a range of professionals from education, health, social work and other organisations offering specialist services to our young people to offer the best possible co-ordinated support.

This post requires a dynamic, creative and pro-active teacher with experience of working with pupils with autism and other complex needs, their families and associated professionals.

We would welcome applications from GTCS registered teachers from both secondary and primary backgrounds, but a willingness and ability to teach across the curriculum is essential.
