Do you have a passion for support vulnerable children and making a difference to their lives and education?

LTF Recruitment are currently seeking to appoint a talented and empathetic learning mentor to join the dedicated support staff team in our partnered Primary School in Alderman's Green, working with vulnerable children with social emotional and behavioural problems affecting their ability to learn. You'll work alongside children's family's and parents and teachers to determine the needs to learners and how to overcome their barriers helping improve their self-esteem and assisting with emotions. The role is offered on a long term basis with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

Duties Include:
- Working with school team and outside agencies to support vulnerable children in need of mentoring.
- Group mentoring and support to improve academic progress and learning.
- Liaising closely with colleagues, families and outside agencies and monitoring behaviour and attendance of the identified groups.
- Holding regular check in with children on a 1:1 basis.
- Following Children in Need (CIN) Plans and Child protection plans (CP)
- Helping children to raise children's self-esteem and supporting with feeling and emotions.

The ideal candidate will:
- Have working knowledge of SEMH and associated difficulties and ideally have experience of supporting pupils within a primary school setting.
- Have experience working in a support role within a school or in counselling, mentoring position with children.
- Have experience liaising and working alongside outside agencies.
- Has an understanding of CIN & CP plans
- Hold a relevant degree or teaching assistant qualification.
- Have a good understanding of supporting children with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
- Be passionate about making a difference to children's lives by enabling them to learn, thrive and achieve.
