Summary

Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)

Reporting to: The Appointee

Location: Malvern WR14

Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.

About the employer:
Our client is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide support for 5 hours per week with social support and some domestic tasks.

Main duties:
Social duties:
 keep in touch and socialise with family and friends.
 collect from Salvation Army Day Centre Tuesday & Friday.
 attend medical appointments if required.
 support with weekly grocery shopping.
 assistance to identify local community activities to attend.

These duties may vary from day-to-day.

 Specific requirements: someone with a calm and supportive manner. Someone able to gradually increase client’s independence to gain confidence in engaging in his own activities of daily living. Must be a driver with access to own vehicle.

Hours of work: 5 hours per week (2 x 2 hours per week plus 1 hour per week floating support)

Rate of pay: £12.50 per hour.

Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
 driving licence
 car and appropriate insurance
 previous support experience
 previous experience of working with individuals with learning difficulties.
 Support with checking correspondence and supporting accordingly.
 confidentiality
 good at building relationships

Preferred:
 good communicator
 a good listener
 ability to support people with complex care needs.

Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.

This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
