Job description
Title: HR Advisor – Schools
Salary: Hoople Band D £30,461 - £38,407 per year, dependent on experience (based on 37 hours per week, full year working pattern)
Location: Auxilium House, Hereford / School Sites within Herefordshire and some home working

Working Pattern: Applications will be considered for full year or term-time plus 4 weeks (42 weeks), to be discussed at interview

Closing Date: Tuesday 1st July 2024
Interview Dates: Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th July 2024

About the Role:
Due to an internal move, Hoople Group have an exciting opportunity for an HR Advisor (Schools) to join our team. This role involves providing comprehensive, professional, and high-quality HR advice and support across a full range of HR disciplines to schools and academies. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting clients with complex employee relation casework via email, telephone, Teams, and on-site visits.
Acting as an investigating officer on various employment matters, report writing, and attending formal meetings.
Developing school-based HR policies and procedures in collaboration with Trade Union representatives.
Designing and delivering training sessions to clients on a variety of HR topics.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and resolve a range of complex HR casework, including disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence management, TUPE, redundancy, appraisal, and capability.
While experience within the school sector and familiarity with school-specific legislation (such as the Burgundy Book, School Teachers’ Pay & Conditions Document, and School Staffing Regulations) is beneficial, it is not essential.

Strong knowledge of employment law.
Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work mainly autonomously under the guidance of a line manager.
The capability to make professional decisions promptly in challenging environments.
CIPD qualification or equivalent experience working in HR
Additional Requirements:

Regular travel throughout Herefordshire for on-site school meetings, sometimes at short notice. You must provide your own transport for business use (mileage is paid).
