Summary

Engineering Graduate/Undergraduate – Dorset – Year Out or Full Time Opportunity
Located in Hurtwood are an innovative manufacturer of retrofit electronic solutions to the building controls industry and a leading consultancy in environmental control systems and saving energy in building services. Our work also directly assists many organisations with making the most efficient use of net zero technologies. We are growing our energy management and consultancy role with a major public sector client on the South coast of Dorset. This is an excellent role for someone who wants to progress into energy consultancy or building management systems while using innovative products and with an element of design. The right candidate could progress to a well-paid and satisfying career in energy conservation and the built environment.
The work will involve:
1. Our consultancy work surveying buildings and their building services and controls to identify energy savings.
2. Working with our clients to assist them with energy management and reducing their carbon emissions.
3. Designing energy saving control logic that runs building services within the intelligent PLC controllers that we use and graphical interfaces to provide the user with a comprehensive view of their building services.
4. Helping with some on site installation work of our products.
There are also a range of duties supporting our products. These will range from programming and testing our existing products to developing & testing new products alongside our electronics engineer. You will be working alongside a number of Bath University undergraduate students that undertake part time work with us.
Key Attributes:
1. Good communication skills, both written and verbal
2. Workmanship must be accurate and tidy.
3. Capable of working un-supervised and ultimately to organise and undertake their own project work.
This position would suit a motivated individual who is keen to learn and has an interest in energy saving and the UK’s net zero commitments. Any degree across the sciences would be suitable. An understanding of control theory and control and monitoring hardware would be a bonus but not essential.
Full training and mentoring will be provided in several private companies and public sector organisations.
Renumeration will be based on the particular skill set of the candidate but would be a competitive graduate salary.
