Summary
78273 - Site Manager
This Site Manager will report to the Project Manager and will work within UK Power Networks Services - Airports based in our Heathrow Airport office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of £51,245 plus Outer London Weighting (£2,314.12) a van and a bonus of 3%.
If you are successful, you will need to undertake a medical and DBS reference check

Job Purpose
As a Site Manager you will be a part of our Project Team who deliver multi-million pound electrical and civil construction works on clients LV to 132kV Networks, refurbishing and building new substation and transformer enclosures with associated switchgear, transformers, and cabling. This is a high-profile role with the successful candidates being responsible to coordinate and supervise on site construction activities from commencement through to final completion, acting as the principal contact for the client.
Principal Accountabilities
- Daily management of site operatives, subcontractors and site work.
- Develop and implement Safety documentation including Health and Safety Plans, Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Deliver site inductions.
- Identify training requirements for site personnel.
- Client liaison including client audits and progress meetings.
- Procure materials using computer-based systems.
- Notify line manager of possible variations and issues on site
- Compile documents and As Built records for handover files
- Issue all site construction permits.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in maintaining the very best in client relationships,
- Follow the requirements detailed in Method Statements and Risk Assessments,
- Embrace "Stay Safe" and "IPR" content,
- Competent to write Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Compliance with UK Power Networks Services Procedures covering all matters related to Health, Safety, Quality and the Environment,
- Identify hazards and rectify them.
- Relevant Safety Qualification such as IOSH
- Comply with UK Power Networks Services purchasing procedures,
- Complete timesheets and expenses claims promptly and with accuracy
- Attend and contribute to team briefings, meetings and committees
- Provide guidance of contractors and personnel
Nature and Scope
- You will be an important member of the Airport Sector's team and will work with departmental management.
- You will in most cases report to the Project Manager and help deliver the project.
- You will ensure that all operations are completed safely, on time and to budget.
- Provide integral support within the team. Attend and contribute to team briefings, meetings and committees.
Qualifications - Essential
The job requires someone with;
- Experience in Operational Construction.
- 5 year traceable work history.
- Clear Criminal Record Check.
- Can Obtain a Client Infrastructure Security Passes.
- Medical and Drugs and Alcohol screening
- Full drivers licence.
- Understanding of the electrical distribution network
- Fit and willing to be trained to work in confined spaces.
- Either PASMA certified or able and willing to be trained for prefabricated scaffold erection
- Compliance with UK Power Networks Services O&M Procedures relating to Health, Safety, Quality and the Environment.
- Follow the requirements detailed in Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Identify hazards and rectify them.

Temporary Works Supervisor
A background in construction and the electricity industry
Competency to work in Substations up 132kV.
Knowledge of NEC contracts
Knowledge of current legislation relating to Health, Safety and Environment
Cost/ Value reporting exposure
IT literate, specifically in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Full driving licence
Competent to undertake construction activities on a range of LV equipment including street lighting furniture and distribution equipment.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
Managers and supervisors carry both legal and company responsibilities for ensuring the health and safety of their employees, those under their control and those who might be affected by the work undertaken, i.e. public, visitors and employees of other organisations.
