About the roleWorking as part of York College’s Examinations Office you will support the team in all aspects of student registration, examination and certification processes with specific responsibility for Awarding Organisations as nominated by the Examinations Officer. This will predominantly take the form of all aspects of examinations for BTEC & T Levels.You will be able to maintain accurate data records contributing to College compliance in relation to achievement reporting, inspections and audits. You will also support the work of the College Student Data and Exams Manager to provide a quality service, and respond quickly and efficiently to queries and requests for information relating to exams, from students, staff and external agencies. Many of our staff work flexibly in many different ways, including working from home. In this role you may be required to work from home for part of the week (potentially up to 50% of the working week – but not during exams). During exams starting the workday early and potentially staying late will be needed due to national exam regulations. We are open to discussing other possibilities for flexible working and encourage you to talk to us at interview about the flexibility you need. We can’t promise to give you exactly what you want, but we will explore what’s possible.
About the PersonYou will be friendly and approachable, and be able to work independently, and as part of a team. You will be well organised and able to keep track of several different qualifications and requirements rules to meet Awarding Organisation (AO) requirements. Having strong attention to detail when entering data, you will also have strong customer service skills. You will need to be proficient with MS Excel, Word, search engines, and will receive training for the in house software as part of the role.
