Evening Support Practitioner
Based at Catherine Court
Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you want to be part of a team that makes a difference to homeless and vulnerable families?
Join our team of dedicated staff at The Gingerbread Centre.
Overview: As part-time Support Practitioner, you will act as a co-worker and assist the Project Workers in their case work. You will welcome any new admissions who arrive during your shift.
You will encourage independence whilst providing background support and support with routines, life skills attainment, resettlement; you will have responsibility for liaising with the relevant services to arrange support sessions in the unit, for example; sexual health and keeping safe. Your main work will be based at Catherine Court but you may be required to work at our other accommodation site.
Your duties will include:
• Accurate recording and monitoring of any change in service user’s circumstances.
• Deliver support programmes/life skills and other training packages.
• Engage servicer users with external services and arrange for them to come into the unit to deliver sessions.
• Empower and enable service user’s to understand and complete necessary paperwork and forms.
• Encourage independence whilst providing background support.
• Support and aid the emotional and physical well-being of service user’s by means of counselling skills and support.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant area (desirable)
Hours: 18 Hours Per Week
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Evenings, 4.30pm – 10.30pm
(Flexibility will be considered where it is possible)
Salary: £12.44 per hour
