Summary
Our well established client located in Yate are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join their team.
Description of duties and responsibilities:
Seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor reporting into the Warehouse Manager, to manage and oversee all warehouse activities, ensure efficient processes and maximise warehouse productivity. To lead the stores and despatch teams on site to work to defined processes that ensure optimum internal and external customer satisfaction and to do so in a safe working environment with the highest standards of 6S being met.
This Warehouse Supervisor role will be diverse and will be required to manage the expectations of three different entities of the business held under one roof.
The role will require exceptional leadership skills. Communication skills at all levels of the organization need to be exceptional, with a proven ability to engage people within their direct reporting structure and supporting their function. Problem solving skills will be used on an ongoing process to identify solutions and processes that continuously drive efficiency, safety and quality standards.
The job holder will be expected to build high performing teams that are fully aware of and aligned to key business objectives. As such, there is a strong requirement on building team capability and enforcing agreed standards and processes.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
• Effective allocation of resource to deliver picking and despatch schedules on time and in full.
• Control of absence, including holiday planning, absence management and return to works.
• Effective and ongoing training and development of the team to ensure the correct skillsets exist to deliver the plan and are such that absence and holiday can be mitigated.
• Ensure all associates are trained and working to approved work instructions and SOPs. In some cases, the job holder will be expected to define and deliver the creation of applicable SOPs
• Training and development to ensure all associates are aware of relevant EHS requirements e.g. incident reporting, near hit raising, manual handling, correct use of PPE etc.
• Training and development to ensure all associates are aware of system requirements such as 6S, Gemba, basic problem solving etc.
• To be fully aware of any customer issues, and ensure all relevant investigations and countermeasures are applied on a timely basis.
• Understand who key stakeholders are and how they can help deliver results within warehouse operations. Ensure that support departments are aligned to and delivering against objectives and requirements that enable the achievement of warehouse objectives. This would include Planning, EHS, manufacturing, Procurement, material supply
• Understand and deploy ways of working that effectively build engagement within the team.
• To recognize development needs and identify appropriate plans to ensure successful ongoing development.
• Understand and execute tasks required by themselves and their teams in a correct and timely manner. Including all material movements and transactions.
• Manage and Monitor agreed KPI’s relating to despatch and stores.
• Liaising with local agencies and conducting interviews to further develop a new warehouse team.
• Management of 3 different parts of the business, Fall Protection safety equipment, BU supplying to the UK Fire Brigade and BC the Service element.
Experience preferred:
• 5 years of supervisory experience
• SAP knowledge

• Commitment to ongoing professional development
