Summary

The Department of Digital and Data Driven Marketing

The Digital and Data Driven Marketing Department at Southampton comprises 24 reputed academics with teaching and research expertise that include digital marketing, marketing strategy, consumer behaviour, brand management, luxury marketing, services marketing, entrepreneurship, and marketing analytics. Members of the department publish in top-ranking journals, such as the Journal of Retailing, Journal of World Business, Journal of Business Ethics, AI & Society, Harvard Business Review, Journal of Business Research, and Industrial Marketing Management, among others. The department members have a successful track record of winning substantial research and enterprise funding.

About you

As Professor you will play a central role in leading the research agenda in marketing. You will bring to the role a strong professional reputation, including a sustained record of world leading research and thought leadership, through a sustained publications record in top-ranked international academic journals. You will lead on research, collaborating with ECRs and other department colleagues, aiming at high-quality publications. You will have experience in leading major funding bids, along with setting up and managing the resources needed to deliver the research plan. You will act as a leader and ambassador for us in knowledge exchange/enterprise or other business engagement activities.
You will be an experienced educator with proven track record of high-quality teaching, able to lead in the development of education policy and practice and be able to design and develop courses and programmes at all levels (UG, MSc and MBA and Executive Levels). You will be an experienced researcher able to supervise doctoral students.
You will have a strong research vision and leadership skills. Your leadership skills will be evident, whether through your research, education, or having held a leadership role. You will have proved your ability to innovate and engage in inspiring students and colleagues alike, helping to build a strong academic community.
You will play a leading role in the implementation of the strategy of Southampton Business School and Department of Digital and Data Driven Marketing. We expect you to make strong leadership contributions towards the implementation of the University of Southampton’s Triple Helix approach (https://www.southampton.ac.uk/about/strategy/triple-helix).
The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and expansion of the Centre for Marketing Research within the Department of Digital and Data Driven Marketing. The Centre, consisting of twenty plus active researchers, aims to solve real-life marketing challenges using a variety of innovative methodological approaches.
