Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
The ideal candidate will need to be highly motivated and have strong interpersonal skills. It would also be a strong advantage if the successful candidate has experience of working in a school environment, as well as knowledge of maintaining records and good IT skills. They must be able to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team. Applicants should have a willingness to participate in further training and development opportunities offered by the school to further knowledge. They will also need the ability to work effectively within an environment where pupils may display challenging behaviour.
What the school offers its staff
College Central is the county wide Pupil Referral Unit service in East Sussex catering for 4-16 year olds who have been excluded from mainstream schools from across the county. Since the Covid-19 pandemic the school has seen a significant increase in admissions and pupils may display difficult and challenging behaviours. Working with East Sussex County Council and the Department for Education, in September 2023 the Trust began discussions to identify an alternative Multi Academy Trust to take on the running of College Central through a voluntary transfer process.
Commitment to safeguarding
The school has a proven commitment to 'Equality of Opportunity' and actively promotes the welfare and safeguarding of young people. Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced check from the Disclosure and Debarring Service (DBS).
