Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you passionate about providing children with a safe and structured mealtime where they can eat and play with their friends? If so, Beer Primary School, are looking for a Mealtime Assistant to join their team. We are looking for caring individuals who can lead play, interact with the children and undertake the responsibility of supervising and ensuring the safety of the children at all times.



Experience of working with children is not essential, just the passion to help improve the life chances of children within a school environment whilst being prepared to work inside and outside in all weathers.



What the school offers its staff



Beer C of E Primary School is led by a very passionate Head Teacher and aims to actively encourage the curious nature of its pupils. The school was built in 1978 and has grown to support its 90 pupils, on a beautiful site, benefiting from exceptional sea views. The pupils are exceptionally well behaved, and the school’s values of hope, patience, friendship and honesty which are embraced by both staff and pupils alike.



Further details about the role



The main duties of the role are:



• To collect lunches from local primary school
• Complete all necessary food hygiene and temperature requirements
• Serve lunches to children
• Clean and wash following lunch service









Other duties may involve:



• Set up the dining hall
• To set up and lead play activities in the playground;
• Supervision of all pupils during their meal time and organising the dinner queue
• To co-ordinate play for pupils;
• To assist with the well-being of pupils during lunchtime;
• To support the supervision of children during lunch and play, using your initiative to ensure caring quality provision is continuously made.
