Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a Library Assistant and Reading Advocate on a full or part-time basis from September 2024.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day running of the academy’s library spaces; they will also have a passion for reading. They will help promote reading throughout the academy and will spend part of their day hearing students read one a one-to-one and small group basis, assisting them with simple learning activities that may improve their reading age.
Personal Qualities
The successful applicant should have a minimum level of qualifications, including level 2 in Mathematics and English at a minimum C grade [or grade 4] at GCSE.
Responsibilities of the Post Holder
The responsibilities of the post holder will be in accordance with the Library Assistant and Reading Advocate job description.
What the school offers its staff
Remuneration and Working Time
The contract will commence on 3 September 2024. The hours of work required for the role are 37 hours per week or part-time, 38 weeks per annum (Term time only). The working hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Mondays – Thursdays and 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Fridays with a half-hour unpaid lunch break. The offered salary is £22,070 FTE (2024 pending salary award), with actual annual pay at £18,455 (pro rata equivalent of Point 11), including holiday pay.
