Cover Supervisor

37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

39 weeks per year (Term Time plus five staff training days)

Grade G: Actual Salary £19,945 - £24,009

We are looking to appoint, for September 2024, a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to provide lesson and registration cover to facilitate students’ learning during the short-term absence of teachers. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of behaviour and ensuring set tasks are completed.

The post will suit someone with a natural ability to engage with and build an excellent rapport with young people. This role is a superb opportunity for anyone wishing to gain experience in a school environment, possibly as part of their career development.

Cover Supervisors are linked to a specific department within the school and at times may be deployed to support learning in other classes or undertake some administrative duties. Alternatively, you may be required to undertake lunchtime supervision on days you are not timetabled to cover all periods.

You must be highly organised, possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to use your initiative. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be required to liaise between both students and class teachers. You should have proven experience of working with young people in a professional environment, and a good standard of education including Level 2 Numeracy / Literacy skills.
