Summary
You will work with our team of Research Matrons and the Head of Nursing and Professions to operationalise our research and clinical and corporate strategies here at UHS. Providing senior leadership, oversight and day-to-day management of the Clinical Research Facility, ensuring that our current team of research staff, who are committed to driving forward adult and paediatric clinical research, have the resources, knowledge and required skills to conduct a wide range of research studies. Enthusiasm, self-motivation, flexibility, and drive will be required to ensure the success of this post and the continued success of our teams. A solid clinical background in delivering research is required to enable the support and delivery of complex studies, including early phase and experimental medicine within clinical areas with patient safety at the forefront. You will have proven leadership skills and demonstrable experience in line managing a large team. You will need excellent project management skills and you must be able to troubleshoot and problem-solve and be creative. Excellent communication skills are required to give guidance and support to the teams whilst liaising with the senior research nurses across the departments. The ability to communicate with staff and colleagues at all levels and disciplines in an engaging manner is essential. Good IT skills will be required. You will have the ability to analyse complex data and provide timely reports. You will have a passion for sharing knowledge, engaging with colleagues, and promoting research.Excellent attention to detail is essential. This role requires onsite working to provide support to the clinical teams. Our core working hours are Monday to Friday between 8 am and 6 pm however some flexibility will be required to cover the needs of our participants and service needs outside of these hours. Interviews will be held in person at Southampton General Hospital and will include a presentation to a representative panel of peer and junior team members.
