8B Highly Specialist Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist - Brent, Harrow and Hillingdon Under 5s Service

We are delighted to offer a new 8B Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist post covering the three outer London boroughs of Brent, Harrow and Hillingdon. We are looking for a committed ACP registered Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist with a passion for working with children, young people and their families. You will work together with the Lead Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist in developing the BHH Under 5s service providing supervision to the multidisciplinary team, liaising and consulting with Children’s Centres and other community agencies and ensuring the best possible outcomes for children under 5 and their families.

This role will allow opportunity to contribute specialist knowledge to the multi-disciplinary team and regular supervision to Band 7 CAPTs and an ACP trainee when placed within the team.

As one of the senior members of the team, you will work alongside senior CNWL staff and contribute to the service’s development, as we continue to strive to be an accessible, responsive and innovative service with patient care and patient experience at its heart. There will be opportunities to further develop your leadership and strategic skills with support from senior colleagues.

Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust is a prominent mental health trust offering high quality children’s mental health services across 5 boroughs of London. The Trust supports staff wellbeing, reflective practice and monthly team reflective groups in CAMHS teams. The contribution of child & adolescent psychotherapy as part of the MDT is valued in the Trust.





To provide a qualified specialist child and adolescent psychotherapy service to children under 5 years of age and their families (here referred as ‘service users’) as part of a multi-disciplinary tri-borough CAMHS Team.

To provide highly specialist psychotherapeutic assessment and therapy to service users and advice and consultation on their care to non-psychotherapist colleagues and the professional network involved in their support.

The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures. They will utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research. They will contribute to and implement policy changes in line with the objectives set for the service and in collaboration with the service’s general management.

The post holder will provide clinical and professional supervision to trainees and to less experienced psychotherapists and non-psychotherapists.

The post holder will provide advice and consultation to other members of the team on Under 5s psychotherapeutic intervention.
