Summary

Ryan Meadows Care Home is a purpose-built, 60 bed home situated in Nerston Village which is a residential area on the outskirts of East Kilbride. It has easy access to local amenities and transport links.

Everything we do is about giving our residents a place to call home and we’re looking for Chefs with a passion for cooking, dedication to quality and a commitment to their team members.

As the Chef, you will be assist in planning and preparing nutritious, delicious meals for our residents, taking into consideration dietary requirements and preferences. Your culinary expertise will contribute to the overall wellbeing and satisfaction of our residents.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and serve well-balanced meals for residents and offer a variety of snacks throughout the day.
  • Liaise with the Care Home Manager/ Operations team.
  • Maintain a high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Along with the Head Chef, manage the kitchen, including ordering, inventory control, and food budget management.
  • Create menus that are appealing and varied, considering the dietary needs of residents.
  • Collaborate with team members to address resident feedback and special requests.
  • Monitor portion control and waste.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.
  • Adhere to all Food Safety and Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment and perform routine maintenance.

*This position requires a PVG and two references*
