Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Specialty Anaesthetist working across the trust at Wansbeck General Hospital, North Tyneside General Hospital, Hexham General Hospital and The Northumbria Hospital on a full-time or part-time basis.

The candidate should have at least four years experience including two years UK anaesthesia. They will need to have passed the appropriate obstetric competencies as detailed by the RCoA, as the successful candidate will be required to cover labour ward when on call.



The successful candidate will work a resident 8 person full shift system alongside the other trainees in the department and contribute 5 sessions per week. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop their special interest to complement the other members of the department and will participate in the provision of Anaesthetic services at all the main hospital sites.



We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate.
