Role Overview
We are seeking a Class 2 Refuse Driver to join our clients waste management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating refuse collection vehicles, ensuring the safe and efficient collection of waste from residential and commercial properties. This role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and a commitment to environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
*Vehicle Operation: Safely operate a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on assigned routes.
*Waste Collection: Collect waste and recycling from residential and commercial properties, ensuring all materials are handled properly.
*Compliance: Adhere to all local authority policies, health and safety regulations, and traffic laws.
*Customer Service: Interact courteously with residents and businesses, addressing any concerns or queries related to waste collection.
*Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance tasks to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
*Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of waste collection activities and report any issues or incidents to the supervisor.
*Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members to complete routes efficiently and on time.
Qualifications
*License: Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving license.
*Experience: Previous experience as a refuse driver or in a similar driving role is preferred but not essential.
Skills:
*Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
*Ability to follow routes and schedules accurately
*Good communication and customer service skills
*Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance
*Physical fitness and the ability to handle the demands of the job
