Who are we?

Hotel Indigo Exeter is a boutique 4-star hotel featuring 104 stunning bedrooms with several distinctive food and beverage outlets, Becketts Rooftop Terrace, Colson’s Restaurant with private dining space, Retreat Spa and The Dugout Bar.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responding to and converting sales enquiries for events and meetings in all areas of the hotel.
  • Coordinate events, both public or private in the private dining room, Becketts Rooftop Bar, Colson’s Restaurant and The Dugout.
  • Processing all detail for events and meetings using the hotel booking software and salesforce CRM.
  • Create function/event sheets for private events, ensuring that all detail is correct and communicated to all departments.
  • Develop client relationships along with all opportunities to generate repeat bookings and recommendations.
  • Driving and encouraging enquiry conversion and an overall sales culture throughout the hotel.
  • Recognise all opportunities to maximise all sales revenues and upsells.
  • Engage in community activity to promote social and business events.
  • Proactively promote the internal sales lead initiative within the hotel, restaurant, spa and bars to exceed targets.
  • Manage the local corporate account base for bedrooms and events, ensuring that loyal relationships are maintained with the hotel.
  • Liaise with the global brand directors at IHG to ensure that opportunities with business groups and the national corporate accounts are optimised for the hotel.
  • Support preparation of Hotel Commercial Plan and Wish Want Walk
  • Conduct telesales to capture conference and events business.
  • Work with Focus Hotels to develop client collateral, newsletters and promotional information as required.
  • Support completion of market intrusion reports.
  • Effectively communicate within hotel, sales team, and senior management

This role is a direct report to the hotel General Manager, with support from the Focus Sales and Commercial teams.

Key Requirements

  • You are a friendly, fun loving and hard-working hotelier with a zest for excellence!
  • You have strong organisational skills.
  • Preferred experience with IHG, Salesforce and OpenTable, however full training will be provided.
