We are seeking two highly organised and enthusiastic individuals to join our Land and Water Teams. Our work is diverse and engaging, ensuring no two days are the same. You will provide crucial administrative and technical support to help our teams achieve their business targets and secure positive outcomes for people, wildlife and the environment.

As a Technical Officer, you will support various sectors, including Water Resources, Water Quality, Water Industry, Agriculture and Incident Management. Your responsibilities will include:
• Receiving and responding to enquiries, serving as a primary contact for the team, and ensuring timely responses that meet all statutory deadlines.
• Managing the team inbox and ensuring compliance with records management and retention schedules.
• Maintaining and updating our filing systems to ensure information is accessible and accurate.
• Supporting regulatory administration tasks.
• Processing procurement requests for the teams, including PPE and environmental incident response equipment (e.g, lifejacket maintenance etc..).
• Managing information systems.
• Assisting with debt recovery and income support.
• Providing administrative support to Team Leaders and Senior Environment Officers as needed

The team
You will be part of the dynamic and expanding Environment Management department. We respond to environmental incidents across Wessex, regulate water related activities, and enforce permits for activities including sewage discharges, agriculture, and water abstraction. Our team investigates illegal activities and takes necessary enforcement actions. We collaborate with our professional partners and customers to promote good practices that protect and enhance the environment.
Experience/skills required
The ideal candidates will have proven administrative or secretarial experience and demonstrate the following:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
• Self-motivation and the ability to prioritise workload and adapt to changing deadlines.
• Strong organisational and planning abilities.
• Comfort working in fast paced teams.
• Ability to work independently.

You will be welcomed into the team and given the training and support needed, as part of your induction, you will be provided with all the equipment and protective clothing required for your role.
