Your new company
Hays education are proudly working in partnership with an amazing secondary school in South Warrington/Runcorn who are currently on the lookout for a Science technician to join their team on a permanent basis from September.
Your new role
In your new role as a science technician, you will be working under the direction of the senior science technician and will be responsible for maintaining the science laboratory, its preparation rooms and equipment. Your duties will include:
- Preparation of science materials and equipment
- Assisting teaching staff with general running of practical work sessions
- To undertake safety checks as required and ensure compliance with the requirements of health and safety
- Cleaning sinks, chemicals, study surfaces and spillages of chemicals
- Arranging apparatus including worksheets, books and aids to be available in rooms for lessons
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience of working within a laboratory setting
- Fun, energetic and passionate approach to working with children and science
- A current DBS or willingness to get one
