Summary

Your typical day, as Senior Support Worker will be to inspire, lead and support your team of Housing Support Worker (Teenagers 16-17 years) across two of our new Ofsted Registered Schemes in Lambeth.

You will have regular one to ones, team meetings and deliver training and staff development sessions so we can exceed the expectations of our young residents. You will ensure your team are carrying out the needs and risk assessments and that each young resident receives a flexible personalised support plan which is regularly reviewed. You might have to liaise promptly with colleagues or partner agencies regarding safeguarding issues which needs to be addressed to protect our young residents from harm, abuse, or neglect.

Your goal with the help of your team of Housing Support workers will be to guide our young residents towards securing a place on the housing register or finding appropriate rental properties.

You will ensure that we are offering our young residents with the practical and emotional support necessary to regain their independence. Given the complexity of their needs, it’s crucial to establish consistent, trusting relationships, ensuring they feel secure and supported.

You will need to be empathic, have excellent listening skills, be non-judgmental attitude, and can recognise and respond to potential issues. You must be capable of working autonomously, navigating, and defusing difficult situations to prevent escalation.

What we’re looking for:

Have you got experience of working with teenagers between the ages of 16-17 years who are vulnerable and have complex needs?


Do you have experience of supervising or leading a team who work different shifts (across seven days, including weekends, bank holidays and night shifts)?


Do you have experience of safeguarding and trauma informed principles?

As the Senior Support Worker an Enhanced DBS check and subscription to the update service will be required with our support.

Ideally, we would like to hear from candidates who already have a level 3 qualification in a relevant subject such as social care, youth work or housing or be willing to work towards this.
