We are looking for a Warehouse Manager to join the team in Colne Valley, just north of Colchester, Essex.

About the role:

As our Warehouse Manager, you will lead a small team with full operational responsibility for the warehouse, ensuring compliance with all EH&S and quality processes. You will manage the existing staff, plan and prepare for future growth, and work closely with the Production Manager to ensure we deliver on-time, in-full amidst increasing SKU complexity. Additionally, you will act as cover for the Stock Controller/Planner by learning all aspects of their role.

Key Duties:

- Implement and manage an efficient and accurate Warehouse Management System and overall warehouse operation.

- Manage stock control to ensure we deliver FIFO within an FMCG environment.

- Lead the warehouse team to ensure materials and finished goods are handled, stored, picked, supplied, and dispatched in line with quality standards, HACCP processes, and health & safety procedures.

- Plan efficient resources to meet demand, including recruiting, coaching, and developing the warehouse team.

- Ensure cost-effective and efficient warehousing for both inbound and outbound operations.

- Promote and develop shift, cross-shift, and cross-functional teamwork to facilitate the delivery of company objectives.

- Create a culture of continuous improvement that challenges current practises.

- Ensure compliance and the health & safety of the warehouse team and operations, while driving improvements to the H&S culture/processes.

Shift Pattern:

The standard hours for this role is 9am to 6pm. Flexibility is a key part of the role as there will be times where you may have to start earlier or stay a little later to ensure the operations team can continue to produce.

About you:

The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse management, stock control, and team leadership within an FMCG environment. You must be proficient in implementing warehouse management systems, maintaining compliance with HACCP, EH&S, and other regulatory policies. Strong leadership, communication, and resource planning skills are essential, as well as the ability to inspire and develop your team through training and performance management. A proactive approach to continuous improvement and health & safety is also essential.
