L&Q are now in the process of developing our Operational Building Safety Team within our Property Services Directorate, and are pleased to open the opportunity for the Lead Building Safety Managers. You will be responsible for leading a regional team of Building Safety Managers to ensure the monitoring and management of Building Safety for buildings within your allocated region.

You will report directly to the Head of Service, and work with the Strategic Building Safety team and the other Lead Building Safety Managers in developing, establishing, and maintaining through continuous improvement, the building safety arrangements for buildings within your allocated region.

You will ensure that that the Building Safety Managers are undertaking their various duties and building safety measures as required by the Building Safety Act, to ensure that buildings are safe and secure for our residents to occupy.

You will lead on budget management for your region, to ensure that operations are delivered efficiently and effectively, with a value for money approach, to minimise service charges associated with building safety measures.

Your role will require close collaboration with the other regional Lead Building Safety Managers, Head of Service, Director of Building Compliance, along with the Strategic Building Safety Team. You will also be line manager for a team of Building Safety Managers.

The role will include procurement of specialist services along with control and management of key building safety data. As such you will be expected to ensure all L&Q’s procurement processes and standing order rules are followed, whilst having a strong working knowledge of L&Q Housing Management, Financial, Compliance Management, and record keeping systems.

Candidates will have expert knowledge in building safety.

You must be a first-class communicator with experience working with a variety of different stakeholders including residents and resident groups and committees, Corporate Health and Safety, Housing Management teams, and other Property Services teams.

Requirements for this role include:

Demonstrable qualifications in Building Safety (Hold or, at a minimum, working towards Level 6 in Building Safety).

Ability to lead a team of technical experts in a challenging and fast-moving environment.

Ability to liaise effectively with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure truly collaborative agreed approaches and outcomes.

Practical Experience of Operational Building Safety including knowledge of active fire, M&E and specialist safety installations and systems.

Highly computer literate and be able input and retrieve data from a variety of computer management systems.

Full driving licence and have access to a vehicle on a daily basis as this role requires the post holder to be mobile (travelling to various sites).
