The Role of Pre-Academy Lead Recruitment Scout
The successful candidate will coordinate the Pre-Academy programme. The candidate will also assist in the development of the player recruitment strategy for the Academy within the framework of the Club’s philosophy and strategy.

Main Accountabilities
• To ensure that any concerns you observe, or are raised with you in your role, are shared with the Safeguarding Team through appropriate channels
• To lead our pre academy recruitment operations reporting into the Head of Academy Recruitment
• To lead the identification, assessment of players in the Pre-Academy age groups in conjunction with Brentford Football Club Academy process and structure
• To coordinate and communicate with appointed Brentford Football Club scouts, ensuring that scouting processes and structures are adhered to
• To collaborate with the Academy Games Programme Coordinator to arrange and oversee a bespoke games programme for all Pre-Academy age groups
• Work as an integral member of the Scouting Department in identifying players for the Club who meet the criteria and potential to play for Brentford Football Club Academy.
• To be responsible for identifying and recruiting talented players to join our Pre-Academy programme.
• Work alongside the Lead Recruitment Scout FDP and manage Pre-Academy scouts, providing direction, guidance, and support to ensure effective scouting within our catchment area
• Liaise regularly with key personnel regarding recruitment, development and retention of Pre-Academy players
• Develop an extensive network of contacts within geographical areas to ensure the Club has a working knowledge of all talented players to support the identification of players for Brentford Football Club
• To maintain knowledge of the standards of players required to improve playing squads and maintain accurate and detailed reports of all matches attended to ensure players are targeted on specific databases
• Undertake continuous professional development (CPD) training and/or additional training as identified or required
• To undertake any academy recruitment duties as requested by the Head of Academy Recruitment.

Person Specification - Essential Personal Characteristics
• FA Talent ID Level 2 minimum (or equivalent outside of England)
• UEFA C Licence (or equivalent outside of England)
• Experience working in elite Football environment
• Considerable experience in the identification of young players and EPPP guidelines.
• Excellent knowledge of player potential and performance
• Knowledge of local catchment area
• Ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines.
• Ability to work unsociable hours as required involving work outside normal office hours, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays
• A dynamic, hardworking and enthusiastic individual.
• Organised individual who can work to process and structure
• Proactive decision maker with excellent communication skills, to work alongside other departments.
• Able to always maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
