An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead on the development and delivery of our AHP preceptorship programme at UCLH.

As an HCPC registered AHP with relevant NHS service you will be responsible for the provision of a high quality learning experience for AHP preceptees and development of AHP preceptors at UCLH.

The post holder will work with the AHP Education and Workforce Project Manager, AHP Leads and Practice Educators to continue to develop and deliver an educational programme to support the transition of student AHPs to Newly Qualified AHPs at UCLH and to achieve the key standards set by NHSE WTE. You will also engage with the North Central London (NCL) AHP faculty group, and NHS WTE in the London region

With experience of developing and delivering education and supporting learning in practice, the post holder will work collaboratively and engage with MDT

colleagues and stakeholders to continue to design, deliver and evaluate the AHP Preceptorship Programme.

The post holder will be able to work independently and collaboratively, work to set priorities and manage time effectively. You will have strong communication, organisation and decision making skills and be able to deliver education programmes and presentations.

Lead on the development and delivery of an educational AHP preceptorship programme to support the transition of student AHPs to Newly Qualified AHPs at UCLH.

Responsible for provision of a high quality learning experience and development for AHP preceptees.

Ensure that systems are in place to enable all newly qualified AHPs to meet Trust & local objectives in the preceptorship period to become confident and competent practitioners

Promote a standardised approach to preceptorship, building on and improving existing initiatives

Liaise with the AHP Workforce and Education Project Manager, AHP Service Leads, AHP Practice Educators, Clinical Practice Facilitators and department leaders on initiatives to improve the capacity and motivation of the AHP workforce to take on the preceptorship role

Act as a role model and resource for practice and professional guidance in relation to AHP preceptorship; give constructive feedback to individuals on progress

Liaise with AHP clinical areas to ensure that preceptors are allocated equitably and that all understand their roles, use documentation consistently and comply with HCPC standards

Maintain an overview of the progress of individual AHP preceptees through monitoring the database, intervening when milestones are not being met and liaising target support

The post holder will work with the AHP Service Leads and is responsible for provision of a high quality learning experience for AHP preceptees and development of AHP preceptors at UCLH.

Key elements of the role include;
