The University of Kent Academies Trust is seeking to recruit a proactive Speech and Language Therapist Assistant to work at Brompton Academy.

The role involves working within our current inclusion team and assisting the qualified Speech and Language Therapist to deliver programmes of care for the young people at Brompton Academy. Undertake a range of administrative tasks as required by the department. You should communicate clearly Speech and Language Therapy care aims to clients, parents and carers under the guidance of a speech and language therapist.

Deliver packages of care for clients in groups or individual sessions under the supervision of a Speech and language therapist. Support and model the use of universal strategies in classrooms.

The role of the SLTA is vital for a significant number of our students, particularly for those students with EHCPs and/or underlying SLCN in mainstream and in our specialist provision, the Eliot Centre which is based at Brompton Academy. Working with the therapy lead, you will have the opportunity to develop special areas of interest in SLCN and will be supported to access suitable CPD to develop your role.

We are looking for a vibrant and energetic individual who wants to make a difference to the lives of our students and who will engage with working as part of a highly committed and effective team. You will need to be confident, resilient, approachable and a good communicator as you will be required to liaise with students, staff, parents/carers and outside agencies. The successful candidate will be expected to work with students from upper Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5, and to support and provide training to empower our staff to integrate specialist interventions and techniques into the classroom.
