Summary


We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated Clinical Librarian to join our Knowledge and Library Services (KLS) within the Trust’s Organisational Development service.

Playing a vital part of supporting Bolton Foundation NHS Trust to achieve our strategy and ambitions, you will have a positive impact on evidence-based patient care by delivering knowledge, evidence, library and information services to every colleague and NHS student at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, as well as other users from the local health economy.

The Clinical Librarian will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionally qualified librarians and be proactive in transforming the service in line with national direction and best practice, ensuring assurance of the highest standards, supporting knowledge management, evidence based practice and research throughout the Trust.

Be an innovative and motivated qualified librarian, playing an integral role in helping us to continue to deliver a high-quality service to all staff and students on placement.

Engage in an element of outreach to make the service available and accessible both within and beyond the physical library space.

Take a multi-disciplinary approach, providing evidence to underpin clinical decision-making, evidence based practice, service redesign, innovation, and research at the point of need.

Carry out complex literature searches to timely deadlines and deliver high quality evidence products.

Provide training on how to use online resources and conduct induction sessions both formal and ad-hoc, and promote the development of critical appraisal skills in the Trust by supporting local journal clubs.

Take initiative, be innovative and display excellent interpersonal skills, displaying both self-confidence and sensitivity.

Be flexible and work as part of a team will genuinely make a real difference.

Be proficient in accessing databases and resources to conduct complex evidence searches and provide evidence-based summaries in response to a wide range of clinical and non-clinical queries.
