Tree Surveyor

Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tree Surveyor to join our team. As a Tree Surveyor, you will be responsible for assessing and documenting the condition and health of trees in various settings, including parks, forests, and urban areas. Your expertise in analyzing tree structure, identifying diseases, and evaluating the potential risks posed by trees will be crucial in helping us maintain the safety and beauty of our natural environment.

You will play a key role in providing accurate and detailed reports on tree inspections, including data on species, age, height, and overall health. You will also be responsible for researching and implementing best practices for tree care and preservation. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent observational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
Conduct tree surveys and inspections, documenting findings and observations
Assess the structural integrity and health of trees, identifying any signs of disease, decay, or damage
Determine the potential risks posed by trees, especially in urban areas or near structures
Analyze data collected during surveys to identify trends and patterns in tree health and growth
Make recommendations for tree maintenance, including pruning, fertilizing, and treatment for pests or diseases
Collaborate with landscape architects, urban planners, and other professionals to ensure proper tree selection and placement in new development projects
Monitor and track the condition of trees over time, updating records and reports as needed
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Arboriculture, or a related field
Proven experience as a Tree Surveyor or similar role
Knowledge of tree species, growth patterns, and signs of disease or damage
Strong observational skills and attention to detail
Ability to use specialized tools and equipment for tree assessment and measurement
Familiarity with local regulations and guidelines for tree care and preservation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
