Summary

Speech and Language Therapist (Term Time Only or Full Year)
Beaumont College is a very special place and we are looking to extend our clinical team in response to increased demand for places at the college. If you are passionate about the delivery of high quality further education for young adults with learning disabilities, this role is for you.

About The Role
As a specialist further education establishment, our educational pathways are highly personalised and focussed on preparing for adulthood, with teaching taking place in small groups with high levels of support. Vocational learning themes support students to make progress, both educationally and in self-advocacy, confidence, self-belief and resilience in preparation for life beyond college in busy and fulfilling destinations.

Communication is embedded within each educational pathway and Speech and Language Therapists are key members of the educational team, enhancing the success that our students can experience.

Each learner has a bespoke package of health and support interventions including Physio and hydro therapy, Occupational Therapy, and access to skilled and experienced teams of Assistive Technologists and Positive Behaviour Support practitioners.

We are seeking to appoint a Speech and Language Therapist who has completed their competencies and is ready to specialise in the field of education and adult learning disabilities. Our ideal candidate will be committed to providing a Total Communication environment, enhancing functional communication, whilst also offering intensive clinical intervention over a multi-year educational programme. There are also opportunities to develop dysphagia and AAC specialisms.

You will be part of an experienced and skilled team of SaLTs, as well as being part of a transdisciplinary education, health and care team who work together to put the learner at the centre of all that they do. All our staff enjoy the opportunity to have a positive and lasting impact on our students’ futures.

For an informal conversation about this role please email our Lead SaLT Catherine Maunder - catherine.maunder@beaumontcollege.ac.uk to arrange an appointment.
The role is open to discussion around full or part time, and term time only and full year (salary pro-rata).
