The Opportunity…

As a Nightshift/ Back-Shift Safety Advisor working in conjunction with respective HPC Site Operations and Construction Delivery Leads, you’ll be providing the highest standard of health and safety support and guidance for the back and nightshifts.

In addition to the responsibility to provide day to day technical support on all programme health and safety related matters, you will operate successfully by providing solutions, support, and guidance to enable the creation and implementation of best-in-class programme health and safety strategies and plans.

In this role you will work in collaboration with the Contract Partners health and safety and delivery teams delivering H&S risk management and high impact promotion programmes which enable demonstrable compliance with the NNB HPC Safety Management System contributing to the ambition of zero harm across the programme and the HPC Project. What you’ll be doing…


- Participating in creating, maintaining, and improving workplace health and safety.
- Influencing a multi-disciplinary team on health and safety issues during pre-construction planning and project evolution.
- Developing project-based health and safety risk profiles to guide risk-based inspections and assurance activities.
- Ensuring compliance with Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 for Designers and Principal Contractors.
- Providing expertise in constructability, maintainability, and operability reviews.
- Conducting inspections, accident investigations, maintaining records, and writing reports.
- Coordinating and compiling information for scheduled health and safety reports, identifying trends and potential issues.
- Auditing on-site construction activities to ensure adherence to the construction phase plan.
- Offering advice on interpreting and applying the health and safety management system, including training and briefings.
- Proactively developing and implementing programs to support zero tolerance for HSE issues.
- Collaborating with peers in other disciplines to create coherent and integrated policies and systems.
- Actively participating as a member of a team of safety, health, and environmental professionals.

Who you are…

Your background may include some of the following:


- Significant HSE experience within a large project setting.
- Experience of co-ordinating between contractors to support resolving health and safety interface issues across complex and high-risk operations.
- Tech IOSH, NEBOSH HSE Diploma or European equivalent.
- Excellent knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop wide network and working relationships within EDF and the construction industry.
- Highly skilled in the analysis of technically demanding and detailed information and quickly identify the underlying issues and risks.
- Proven track record of achieving excellent safety results on major engineering and construction projects.
