Summary
This is a 24 month apprenticeship with the view of the successful candidate being offered full time employment. The successful candidate will work towards the Level 2 Hair Professional apprenticeship standard.
Your day to day duties will include:
- Observing and learning different cutting and styling techniques
- Maintaining a professional approach and good communication skills with customers and colleagues
- Attending college training, and being mentored in our salon
- Learning how to shampoo hair in preparation for the stylist
- Learning how blow dry and straighten hair correctly
- Learning proper techniques for colouring and colour removal
- Assisting our qualified stylists with hair foils and perms
- Providing reception duties, greeting clients, answering the telephone, booking appointments
- Maintaining salon cleanliness with housekeeping and laundry duties
- Replenishing stock and making sure the salon is presented in the best way possible
- All other associated duties as required
As an apprentice, you will attend college day-release sessions at The Grimsby Institute once each week (Monday). You will also receive full training and support from the employer’s team who will provide a wealth of knowledge and essential practical skills.
There is a free college bus service available from Louth and the surrounding areas.
