We have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at Hinkley Point C. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.



As Health and Safety Advisor, you are responsible for monitoring and maintaining the HSE framework to ensure the HPC contract complies with statutory and mandatory requirements. This will involve monitoring and reporting on standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with health, safety and environment are continually adhered to.





Responsibilities

Review, track and report on all health, safety and environment matters and remedial actions using relevant G4S & EDF trackers and management software.
Carry out assurance checks as part of the "Independent monitoring & assurance".
Assist the contract to ensure that all buildings operate and are maintained in accordance with all statutory and mandatory requirements and are compliant with relevant legislation and in line with the requirements of the building users/clients.
Conduct regular Inspections with follow up action plans and site visit reports.
Assist with incident investigations, incident statistic collation and analysis.
Assist with the implementation of the G4S FM Occupational Health & Safety Management System and Safety Improvement Plans within the contract ensuring the Health & Safety Policy is adhered to by the Contract, as well as all policies and procedures as detailed in the Contract Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Plan.
Ensuring that all health, safety and environment objectives and KPIs in the Contract H&S Strategy and Improvement Plan are adhered to by the Contract.
Attend and support SHE Manager in review meetings with specialist contractors as required.
Assist in Monthly review and analysis of hazard reporting for the Contract.
Carry out, with assistance of the SHE manager, an annual review of subcontractor H&S information and ensure subcontractor pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQ) and associated documents are available and retained.




THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Essential

NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (Level 3).
Relevant demonstrable experience in a similar role.
Provable experience of auditing and performance monitoring.
Excellent knowledge of building Environment.
Self motivated.
Confident and calm under pressure.
Able to motivate, prioritise and organise effectively.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Ability to work openly and collaboratively at all levels.
Excellent written skills, proficient in Google programs.
Full driving licence.




Desirable

Proven Auditing Skills.
COSHH experience.
Environmental experience/qualification.
