Summary

An opportunity has arisen for a proactive and experienced individual to join the School of Public Services, Science and Computing.

We are looking for well-motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer to join our committed and successful team. The role would be ideal for someone seeking to have a positive effect on the lives and learning experience of our Computing students.

You will be teaching students aged 16-19+ with the potential to teach at a range of levels from Level 1 through to Level 5. The successful applicant will need to have the necessary skills to teach Further Education learners and be part of a large thriving team.

The right candidate will be someone with up-to-date industry knowledge in computer science and/or networking and an understanding of learners in the FE sector. You will be capable of developing a wide range of learning materials which engage and stimulate a diverse group of students with differing needs.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, flexible, student-centred with the ability to provide pastoral care and be a strong role model for our students. You must be able to travel between Watford and Hemel Hempstead campus as the Computing provision is delivered across sites.

A relevant degree is a requirement and a teaching qualification and/or industry experience is desirable, although full training to obtain this will be provided. You will have an ability to promote, support and embed English and maths skills within the planning and delivery of all teaching.

You’ll have the full support of a vibrant team and opportunities to bring your ideas to the role. Training and development are at the heart of everything we do so you’ll be actively encouraged to upskill.

We have a free on site gym at our Watford campus, and you can access a wide range of discounts and benefits including a cycle to work scheme, free on-site parking, and generous pension.

The closing date for applications is Monday 8th July 2024. The successful candidate will join our team from August 2024.
