About the Role: Winner Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a dynamic SEN Specialist school in Erdington. This role involves working with a Year 9 complex class, requiring expertise in Makaton, PECs, and the engagement curriculum. This is a maternity cover position starting in September.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored lessons to meet the needs of students with complex SEN requirements.
• Utilize Makaton and PECs for effective communication and learning.
• Implement and adapt the engagement curriculum to ensure all students are engaged and making progress.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff to provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and reports.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Proven experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly in a complex class setting.
• Proficiency in Makaton and PECs.
• Strong understanding of the engagement curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of students with SEN.
