Job Advert

We are looking for Residential Night Care Workers to join our team to provide the highest levels of care 24/7.

You will provide support and care overnight, being a calm and reassuring presence to ensure the young people in our care remain
safe and there individual needs met overnight.

Remaining awake through-out your shift, you continue the therapeutic style of care, ready to support the young person, especially
if they are in crisis. Using the theories you have been taught, you will be able to support that child as they regulate and work
with them to keep them safe from harm using a wide range of techniques and practices. This might mean sitting with a child through
that crisis for hours, but your dedication to your role and to that child means you do this without a second thought.

Having the child at the centre of all we do is critically important to us; we involve the child in their care plan, their risk
assessments, their communication plan. We listen to the children about how they want to be cared for and work with them to create
a world in which they feel safe and have their basic needs met.

You will work on a rota for your home, working on average 40 hours per week, either working a 4 on/4 off pattern or a fortnightly
pattern. There is the opportunity for overtime if desired and/or shifts in other homes providing you variety and different
challenges.

You will ideally be experienced working in a social care capacity, ideally having an understanding of trauma-informed therapeutic
practice. Mostly importantly, you will be a resilient, positive and passionate individual about looking after children. Some of
our children can be very challenging and have experienced terrible traumas meaning night-time are especially triggering for them.
Your calm, understanding and patient nature will give them reassurance, safety and most importantly a friendly face.

If you are looking for career progression, we are very keen to support and develop our employees with ongoing training and
qualification. We will support you to achieve your level 3 and 5 Diploma in Residential Care qualifications

If you are looking to work for a not-for-profit organisation who cares about you and your wellbeing, YMCA Robin Hood Group prides
itself on the package of wellbeing we provide to support all our employees.

At YMCA Robin Hood Group, you will have many additional benefits, including but not limited to:

* Higher than market-average starting salaries for Residential Care
* Objective based personal bonus to reward your individual contribution to a child's wellbeing and development.
* Full therapeutic training and comprehensive induction plan
* Comprehensive well-being package
* 23 day annual leave increasing 1 day each year for your first 5 years!
* Flexible bank holidays to take to celebrate the cultural and religious events important to you
* Private medical and dental cashback scheme
* Westfield Rewards for high street discounts
* Regular ongoing inhouse training
* External training to support Level 4 & 5 Residential Care Diploma
* Eligible to join the Blue Light Discount scheme
* Workplace pension
* 4 x Life Insurance/Death in Service
* Pastoral support
* Cycle to Work Scheme
* Excellent opportunities for development and progression in an exciting expanding organisation
* £500 refer a friend scheme applicable across the Group
* Reduced school holiday childcare costs at YMCA Camp Williams
* 10% off in our hospitality venues

This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (paid for by YMCA) and registration with the DBS Update Service. We
reserve the right to withdraw this role before the closing date should we be able to appoint to the role.
