Job responsibilities include:
Main focus: Supporting our extensive medical diet procedure throughout the business by:
- Creating a wide range of medical diet menus for our pupils with allergies and intolerances.
- Ensuing FIR regulations are met by providing up to date allergy information.
- Managing day to day parent, pupil and client queries surrounding medical diets.
- Contributing to ingredient, recipe and menu development.
- Deliver medical diet training throughout the business.
- Attending parent and client meetings regarding medical diet provision.
- Maintaining medical diet information throughout our in-house menu management systems.
- Manage sensitive pupil allergy information in an organised manner, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
- Review policies and procedures on medical diets.
Additionally: Support the Chartwells Nutrition and Health strategy by:
- Contributing to nutrition education and training for clients and colleagues
- Ensuring nutritional compliance of the food offer, including analysis of recipes and ingredients
- Supporting with innovation in nutrition initiatives
- Must have graduated within the last 2 years with an accredited degree (BSc), or higher, in Nutrition
- High attention to detail
- Experience in working with people with allergies and intolerances (desirable)
- Experience using nutritional analysis system such as Saffron (or equivalent)
- Strong communicator and confident presenting to a wide variety of audiences
- Ability to manage a busy inbox and work under pressure
- Ability to multi-task and excellent organisational skills
- Team player
- Conscientious and determined about championing the wellbeing of children
- Excellent IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Proven record of meeting deadlines
- Ability to work independently without constant guidance from line manager
- Passion for keeping up to date with research and legislation
- Punctual and a good time keeper
- Experience working in the food industry is also desirable
