Summary

We are a multi-award winning, creative, and innovative organisation and the Database Executive is an important role within the data team at War Child UK, supporting, maintaining and utilising our database system, Salesforce. We’re looking for a certified Salesforce user who is adept at project management to support the Data Lead, with a variety of projects –ensuring our busy Fundraising & Communications function are fully enabled. This requires someone who is experienced in data selection, the importing of data and data cleansing. Working with a range of teams at War Child, the Database Executive is a confident advocate for Salesforce and the importance of CRM, helping War Child achieve our objectives and provide the best possible service to our donors, supporters, participants and staff.

Your role
War Child’s Database Executive is responsible for supporting the Data Lead and Database Coordinator in the day-to-day implementation, utilisation and maintenance of our database, Salesforce. War Child uses Salesforce to manage relationships with our donors, supporters and stakeholders.

The Database Executive works with the data team to support all UK teams to ensure Salesforce is fit for purpose and enables day to day donor relationship management and data management. Whilst this role and the rest of the data team services all teams at War Child UK, a significant focus will be on the Fundraising & Communications department and especially the Supporter Engagement team who are responsible for recruiting and stewarding individual giving donors and recruitment of new donors through the acquisition programmes. This also includes being responsible for improving and maintaining data quality and achieving excellent supporter data through data selection for mass marketing appeals, importing, exporting supporter data, and successfully implementing a range of data cleansing projects.

• Supporting the Data Lead with improving and maintaining the War Child UK Salesforce database.
• Working closely with Fundraising and Compliance teams to ensure accurate data collection.
• Work collaboratively with the data team with a variety of data projects.
• Carrying out selections for mass marketing appeals.
• Be the first point of contact alongside the Database Coordinator for queries from across the organization. Proactively resolving queries / errors and requests in a timely and efficient manner using the Salesforce Case Ticketing system.
• Support and take ownership of a range of data cleansing projects to ensure data quality.
• Carry out accurate and timely importing and exporting of supporter data from appeals.
• Ensure the highest standards of data hygiene are adhered to when running data checks when preparing files for importing/exporting.
• Support the Data Lead with the upkeep of policy and procedure documents.
• Work with external agencies and stakeholders to successfully complete data projects within agreed timeframes and to a high standard.
• Contribute to creating a culture committed to the safeguarding of children and adults and compliant to WCUK’s Child Safeguarding and Adults at Risk Policies.

You are
• A Salesforce.org user (or equivalent through relevant experience) with good working knowledge of Salesforce system administration.
• Someone who can manage database-related projects effectively, accurately and to set timeframes, from start to finish.
• A strong communicator and quick learner.
• Experienced in data selection for mass fundraising appeals – with excellent attention to detail.
• Experienced in importing and exporting data with data loader.
• Understanding and appreciation for excellent data quality, using your passion and skills to manage data cleansing projects to the highest possible standard.
• A competent user of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.
• Committed to Salesforce best practice and staying abreast of developments on the Salesforce platform and wider Salesforce.com and Salesforce.org community.
• Able to manage a variety of stakeholder requirements and priorities simultaneously, to resolve requests in a timely, logical and accurate manner.
• A naturally collaborative person, who enjoys working with others and communicating with a variety of stakeholders to complete projects and problem solve.
