Summary

We have vacancies for two full time Booking Clerks in the Endoscopy CAU booking team. The team is positioned in the Endoscopy Department on the Tunbridge Wells site but coordinates the administrative pathways for patients attending for treatment in both the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Endoscopy departments.

The successful candidate will have the skills and knowledge to help manage the inpatient, outpatient and day cases waiting lists for a delegated number of consultants within a specialty, in accordance with Government Access Targets and the Trust’s Access Policy.

Working in this fast, progressive and friendly environment will provide job satisfaction and considerable interest to the successful candidate.

Previous experience of CAU’s would be advantageous and a knowledge of how to book patients onto treatment lists would be ideal but not essential as training will be given. You should be resilient, motivated, organised, work well under pressure and have exceptional communication skills. You will work closely with the Senior Booking Clerk and CAU Team leader to ensure the Trust access policy is adhered to and that all admin related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met with remedial actions put in place when necessary.

You will support the Senior Booking Clerk and CAU Team Lead, liaising with other departments, patients and relatives, as well as clinical colleagues to ensure that patient admissions are appropriately planned and managed.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients – the first of its kind in the country.

We employ more than 7,000 full and part-time staff in a huge range of clinical and non-clinical roles across both of our hospital sites.
