Summary

Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Head of finance in London on a full time permanent basis with major charity. This Head of Finance role is paying up to £65,000 per annum.

The Head of Finance will be responsible for the daily management of the charity's finance operation. Ranging from payroll to year end accounts to future and strategic budgeting and forecasting. This is an extremely varied role with a fantastic charity.

Main Responsibilities of the Head of Finance:

  • Advise the Treasurer, CEO, and Board on financial matters.
  • Develop and enforce financial procedures and policies.
  • Suggest improvements for accuracy, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Serve as a signatory for payments.
  • Oversee banking operations and update mandates.
  • Lead and finalize the annual budget with the Senior Management Team.
  • Monitor budget progress and delegate financial responsibilities.
  • Prepare statutory accounts compliant with charity and SORP standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee audit processes.
  • Ensure high-quality monthly financial reports.
  • Coordinate and attend meetings, following up on actions and decisions.
  • Review and update financial risks and reserves policy.
  • Support the Treasurer in reporting to Trustees.

Person Specification of the Head of Finance:

  • Hold a relevant degree or professional qualification from recognised accountancy bodies (e.g., CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Board-level experience in finance and strong risk management understanding; experience in charity requirements is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively convey complex information, and build robust relationships with senior and external stakeholders across cultures.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of successful delivery in complex environments and a proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Strong analytical skills for multifaceted issues, commitment to collaboration, team working, and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Highly resilient, tenacious, adaptable, accountable for performance and development, and deeply committed to the organisation's vision and values.
