Summary
This is an exciting new opportunity for a breast specialty doctor to support with the provision of local breast services at both Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Due to the growing demand of the service, we welcome candidates who wish to become part of a fast paced team focused on improving, developing and supporting breast diagnostic and treatment pathways for our patients. Candidates who have previous breast experience, or a desire to specialise in breast services, are welcomed to apply.
The Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Breast Unit provides comprehensive breast care management as a secondary and tertiary provider. The Trust carries out primary breast procedures, reconstructions, revision and complex surgery for the 600+ new cancers we diagnose and treat each year. An open access follow up programme has been well established and new innovative research opportunities supported.
The post will be supervised and responsible to the Lead Clinician, Deepika Akolekar. The post holder will be required to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstance and to be available for such irregular outside normal rota duties.
The post holder will be required to deputise from time to time for absent colleagues.
